Why Nitrogen tire filling?
The Benefits of nitrogen for every day drivers.
It's common knowledge that properly inflated tires last longer and deliver better mileage than when under inflated. Most importantly, properly inflated tires are safer for drivers and their occupants. Less well known, however, is that tires filled with at least 92% pure nitrogen will remain properly inflated for a much longer period of time than those filled with regular air. And because nitrogen is an inert gas, it is does not promote corrosion as does oxygen. So over time, there is far less deterioration of rubber and accumulation of oxidation on tire rims and valve stems.
Save on gas:
Studies of nitrogen tire filling show that car owners can improve gas mileage by up to 10% because their tires remain properly inflated.
Improve tire life:
Filling tires with 92% minimum purity nitrogen helps keep them at optimum inflation levels, which in turn delivers improved tread wear compared to under inflated tires. Studies have shown that normal oxygen levels inside tires filled with air are corrosive to both the tire carcass and the wheel itself, both of which can lead to air leakage.
Improve safety:
Properly inflated tires improve safety and handling as well.
Better tire pressure stability:
Moisture in normally inflated tires can lead to wide pressure swings due to expansion as the tires heat up. Nitrogen tire filling eliminates virtually all moisture inside the tire, which in turn keeps tire temperatures and pressure more stable. A side benefit of this is a dramatic decrease in false TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) alerts which have become annoying to drivers of late model vehicles now equipped as standard with TPMS systems.
